Molly With Charles

Creative Direction, Poster Design, Web Design, Video Editing

For the band Molly With Charles’ debut album Ownership release, many design assets were needed, as well as a clear visual direction. The band itself is characterized by smooth, buttery jazz infused r&b/neo-soul sounds, and their current branding consisted of simple sans serif lowercase typography, soft hues, and textured photography. For this album, they wanted a more bold and impactful look, while still remaining true to their brand. They also wanted to incorporate their logo, which I designed years ago.

project

I created a full design package for the album release, which included creative direction for the album art (which was done in pastel by artist Pho Kinder), typography on the album art and poster design, including for different formats for use across platforms. Additionally, I completely redesigned their website based off of their album and branding, and edited videos for their spotify canvases for the album.

For the album art specifically, they wanted to illustrate the process of creating a piece of work and seeing that reflected back on themselves, as well as to explore the idea of ownership of their music. I achieved this by coming up with a concept using imagery of a canvas hanging in a museum, an object created and then let out into the world, as well as drawing on motifs from throughout the project, such as “shine,” “paint,” and “projection.”

Olivia Prado

Merchandise Design, Logo Design and Branding, Illustration

For her debut pop album Liv Laugh Love, Olivia Prado was looking for a simplistic and bold logo design to use across her branding, as well as a signature logo. Additionally, she needed a merchandise package, the design for which was heavily inspired by Y2K design aesthetics, handwritten typography, use of vivid colors, but also simple design choices. She was drawn to specific iconography, such as stars, hearts, and butterflies.

project

I created a merchandise package featuring a t-shirt, trucker hat, and tote bag, complete with hand done typography and illustration. The tote bag featured a custom pattern of her defining icons, stars, hearts, bows, and butterflies. These illustrations were also used in her album art, created by designer Basi. Additionally, I created a bold sans serif logo for her, which is featured across her merchandise and her album art.

Stari

Album Art

For his single releases for his songs I wish I could know what’s on your mind and Get Out of Your Head, Stari wanted artwork which captured his personal brand leaning into star imagery, psychadelic and grungy texture, and fun typography usage. Across both songs, he wanted the artwork to be bold, fun and cohesive.

project

For both singles, the artwork I created features the same color palettes, use of photography, and layered textures. These were well loved by Stari, and were representative of his personality as an artist and music.
